Murex Sees Strong Recognition at Asia Risk Technology Awards 2022

Four wins, including Technology Vendor of the Year, showcase APAC capital markets tech leadership

Murex Sees Strong Recognition at Asia Risk Technology Awards 2022

SINGAPORE, September 27, 2022—Murex, the global leader in trading, risk, and processing solutions for capital markets, is excited to announce that it has won four categories at the Asia Risk Technology Awards:

Technology Vendor of the Year
XVA Solution of the Year
Pricing and Trading System of the Year
Best Structured Products Support System

MX.3 is again recognized as the established platform of choice in APAC for cross-asset trading and pricing, risk management and analytics, post-trade processing, accounting and finance, and regulatory compliance.

Daijirou Morinaga, APAC managing director and co-head of client services at Murex, thanked clients in the region for their continued collaborative work.

“The trust and support of APAC clients allows us to build strong, strategic partnerships. Coupled with investment in R&D, this trust fuels our success,” Morinaga said. “We have seen sustainable growth, acquired new client names, and successfully advanced and completed existing projects. Murex builds solutions that not only address today’s global and regional needs, but also anticipate regulatory, markets and technology trends.”

Murex has reclaimed the Technology Vendor of the Year distinction. Strong, durable client collaborations and unrivalled, locally based expert resources allow Murex to deliver leading technology solutions across the region. Continuous and accelerating product innovation focused on XVAs, LIBOR discontinuation, carbon and cryptocurrency trading and more translates into hundreds of new features that cover market practices, adaptation to new payment instruction norms and regulatory solutions.

Murex has won the XVA Solution of the Year category for three consecutive years. The Murex XVA solution is natively part of MX.3 and accesses all trade, market and counterparty data already in the system, offering complete consistency through native integration. It offers an end-to-end workflow integration between the XVA desk, middle office, risk and finance, and complete analytics across all asset classes, including highly complex products and proprietary structures. Finally, the Murex XVA solution benefits from massive computation capacity to provide accurate results in real time.

In another important repeat distinction, Murex was named Pricing and Trading System of the Year for the fourth time—Murex has won this category since 2019, when it became part of the Asia Risk Technology Awards. Murex offers an integrating platform with all attendant benefits, including streamlined processes; native alignment between trading, risk, and finance; and lower cost of IT, among others. The ability to launch new trading desks is a real differentiating feature. The emergence of two new business lines in APAC—carbon trading and cryptocurrencies— has made this past year a particularly exciting one. In addition, Murex topped the Best Structured Products Support System category, as MX.3 offers complete front-to-back-to-risk solutions, with versatile trade representations and analytics integration flexibility. Its catalog is the largest on the market, comprising more than 350 packaged payoffs. This catalog includes all regional bestselling structures and local markets specific products, the most recent example being a Chinese structured deposit solution package.

“Today, Murex is the undisputed market leader on the integrated trading platforms segment globally and in APAC,” Morinaga said. “We express our thanks to our clients and partners for their continued support, and to Asia Risk for the acknowledgement. These wins only whet the appetite further to solve markets challenges with innovative products and services.”

Being the established platform of choice in this region is testament to Murex’s success in delivering cutting-edge technology to Asian financial institutions since 1994, according to Morinaga.
